How We Met |

Joyce and David met in August of 2003. They first met over a cup of coffee. David was immediately attracted to Joyce but tried to cover it by looking at the floor a lot.
Their first real date was a romantic dinner at Artemisia, followed by hours of talking on a bench at Louisville's waterfront park. By then David wasn't looking at the floor anymore.
David formally proposed on a weekend trip to the Cincinattian hotel the weekend of February 6, 2004.

Joyce is the proud mother of Kyle. He has recently flown the coop and lives in an apartment about 5 minutes from her. She keeps in touch with regular phone calls---sometimes he even answers! He enjoys traveling, playing sports and spending time with friends....especially his girlfriend Brie. He currently works for United Airlines and plans to return to college---(fingers-crossed)
Joyce grew up an 'army brat' living in Germany for much of her childhood. As an adult she spent a few years on the East and West coasts before landing in Kentucky. She continues to be an avid traveller.
Her mother and brothers live near Ft. Knox and her little sister Elizabeth attends University of Kentucky in Lexington.
Her father lives in Florida and much of her extended family is located in Maine and Tennesee.

David is the father of two beautiful children. Sam is 13 and Nora is 12. (pictured here with our French exchange student Gaspard-he is on the right)
Nora's hobbies include reading, playing sports and talking to friends on her computer. Some day she will be Mrs. Johnny Depp.
Sam is very interested in video games and military history, particularly tank warfare in World War II. His favorite place in the world is the Patton Museum at Fort Knox.
David is from the Louisville area and his sister lives nearby. His mom and his brother's family live just over the bridge in Indiana.
